Summary
ArtsFairfax is accepting submissions for an art show at Lincolnia Senior Center, a Neighborhood and Community Services site populated by not only live-in residents, but also seniors who visit the day center.
Background
ArtsFairfax is proud to partner with Neighborhood and Community Services to present a public art opportunity for local artists in Fairfax County. From June 23-September 11, selected artworks will be featured on the walls of this community building.
ArtsFairfax is looking for artwork that will:
- Brighten and enliven the senior center
- Fit the theme outlined below
- Be able to hang on a hook, and measure a maximum of 36 x 36 inches.
Theme
The artwork submitted for consideration should celebrate America's 250th Independence Day. The content of the art should interpret "what it means to be an American", consider Fairfax's "yesterday, today, and tomorrow" or explore the notion of "a perfect union."

The exhibition space is three walls spanning a centrally located hallway just ahead of the building’s entrance. The first wall is approximately 7’ 10” long, the second wall approximately 15’ 7” long, and the third wall 31’ 2” long. The space is fully accessible during the Senior Center’s regular hours of Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.

The exhibition space is well lit with cameras on site as well as staff members frequently walking through the space.
Insurance
ArtsFairfax nor Lincolnia Senior Center will provide insurance.
Submissions

The following materials will be required to be uploaded:
- Three images of existing artwork for consideration.
