Project Support Grants are non-recurring grants used to support eligible nonprofit arts organizations in providing activities that engage new audiences in the arts and contribute to the vibrancy and quality of life in Fairfax County. These grants encourage wide participation in the arts through diverse cultural programming available to all residents of Fairfax County.

View the Grant Guidelines on our website: select the "Guidelines and Eligibility" tab to view and download the Project Support Grant Guidelines.

Complete the eligibility quiz below to begin your application.  The full text of Eligibility Criteria for the Project Support Grant can be reviewed within the Grant Guidelines linked above.

If you require accommodations or a translation in order to submit your application, please contact grants@artsfairfax.org at least two weeks prior your application's deadline.

This application references the Organization Profile, which can be found at this link: ArtsFairfax Submittable

Arts organizations will complete this form once as part of the application process for grants that require an organization profile. This form collects key information about an organization—including mission, vision, values, and demographics. Applicants will upload a PDF of this form with certain FY27 ArtsFairfax Grant applications. Refer to the Grant Guidelines for review criteria.

Instructions:

  1. Complete the grant application eligibility quiz (i.e., Operating Support, Project Support) through ArtsFairfax’s online grant portal.
  2. Complete the Organization Profile form below.
  3. After submitting, visit your account submissions page. Locate the Organization Profile in your list of submissions.
  4. Download your Organization Profile.
  5. Upload the PDF of your Organization Profile to your FY27 ArtsFairfax grant application where requested. The Organization Profile is NOT a complete application.

Returning Applicants may update and resubmit last year's profile OR may begin a new Organization Profile.

To update and resubmit last year's profile, you MUST request it be opened for editing.  Applicants must review all questions and answers, and update the required information within the profile before they resubmit.

Check the Organization Profile form for completeness and accuracy before uploading to your FY27 ArtsFairfax grant applications.

If you require accommodations or a translation in order to submit your application, please contact grants@artsfairfax.org at least two weeks prior to your application's deadline.

Summary

ArtsFairfax is accepting submissions for an art show at Lincolnia Senior Center, a Neighborhood and Community Services site populated by not only live-in residents, but also seniors who visit the day center.

Background

ArtsFairfax is proud to partner with Neighborhood and Community Services to present a public art opportunity for local artists in Fairfax County. From June 23-September 11, selected artworks will be featured on the walls of this community building.

ArtsFairfax is looking for artwork that will:

  • Brighten and enliven the senior center
  • Fit the theme outlined below
  • Be able to hang on a hook, and measure a maximum of 36 x 36 inches.

Theme

The artwork submitted for consideration should celebrate America's 250th Independence Day. The content of the art should interpret "what it means to be an American", consider Fairfax's "yesterday, today, and tomorrow" or explore the notion of "a perfect union."

The Exhibition Space

The exhibition space is three walls spanning a centrally located hallway just ahead of the building’s entrance. The first wall is approximately 7’ 10” long, the second wall approximately 15’ 7” long, and the third wall 31’ 2” long. The space is fully accessible during the Senior Center’s regular hours of Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.

Security

The exhibition space is well lit with cameras on site as well as staff members frequently walking through the space.

Insurance

ArtsFairfax nor Lincolnia Senior Center will provide insurance.

Submissions

Applications must be submitted online at https://artsfairfax.submittable.com by May 27, 2026 at 7 pm.

The following materials will be required to be uploaded:

  • Three images of existing artwork for consideration.
  • The title, dimensions, medium, price, and year the artwork was created along with a brief description of your work.

Eligibility and Expectations

  • Various physical media will be considered as long as it is framed, including literary art, textile art, paper-based art, etc.
  • Final artist(s) and artwork selection will be approved by a Lincolnia Senior Center selection committee.
  • ArtsFairfax will partner with the selected artist(s) on the installation.
  • All work should be framed, mounted, or presented in as professional a manner as possible. The site has an installed hanging rail system with movable, suspended wire hangers. This system requires that installed works have sturdy eye hooks or D-rings – with strong hanging wire – for all pieces regardless of size to ensure that the artwork hangs properly. All artwork should be no larger than 36 x 36 inches.
  • The show will be promoted by both ArtsFairfax and Neighborhood and Community Services.
  • Selected artwork may also be used in promotional materials created by ArtsFairfax and Neighborhood and Community Services in relation to their partnership or the resulting exhibition.
  • All produced artwork is for public viewing. All artwork must be family-friendly. Copywritten characters, logos, political statements, or obscenity are not permitted.
